SPRING NATURE WALKS.  Val Haley will lead three walks that focus on the rare plants, ecology, and geology of the Reserve.  The Saturday walks will be held May 5 and 19 and June 9.  Signup early as there is a maximum 15 people per walk.  To reserve your spot, call Val at 425-0687, or send an email to Vegnet@cruzio.com.  We will meet at 11:00 am at the parking lot next to the old firehouse on Martin Road.  Bring hiking shoes, water, and a lunch.  The walks usually last about 2.5 hours.

7:30pm: RBDA Meeting: Neal Coonerty Bonny Doon School Multi-Purpose Room.

Issues for Bonny Doon in 2007

New County Supervisor, Neal Coonerty, will be the main speaker to discuss local issues such as road repairs, fire protection, possible changes in Timber Production Zone (TPZ) requirements, Cemex cement plant air emissions and Bonny Doon limestone quarry expansion, UCSC growth, and the pending transfer of property east of Highway 1 from the Trust for Public Land to the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Supervisor Coonerty will come ready to answer any questions you may have on these and other issues affecting Bonny Doon.  This is a great opportunity to get to know your new supervisor, only our third in about 30 years.

"La Nostra Costa" Photo Display
Marion Pokriots of the Santa Cruz County Genealogy Society is proud to present the "La Nostra Costa" Photo Display.  Photographs from the book as well as numerous others from the author's collection will be on display.
The display is located in the Genealogy Section of the Santa Cruz City Library, and will be shown through the month of April and possibly May.  The library is located at 224 Church Street, in downtown Santa Cruz.  Admission is free and all are welcome.

Maxine McNamara and Marion Pokriots of the Santa Cruz County Genealogy Society are proud to announce that Ivano Franco Comelli, author of the book 'La Nostra Costa' has agreed to a guest appearance at the Santa Cruz Library.  Ivano will be greeting guests and answering questions at the 'La Nostra Costa' photo display located in the genealogy section of the library.  He will also give a short presentation on his book and comment on the photos currently on display.  Admission Free.
